Ashford Lodge No. 8945

Ashford Lodge is a friendly, welcoming, and socially focused lodge. There is a good mix between the senior and junior members of the lodge, and Lodge nights on a Friday are always well attended, with  good food and a friendly atmosphere.

The social committee works hard to make sure that there are other opportunities for the members to socialise and get to know each other with a wide range of activities available for brethren to participate  in (scroll down to see what we get up to) , as well as mentor led initiatives across our sister lodges.

The senior brethren actively encourage visiting to other lodges, especially our sister lodges, to ensure  that opportunities to learn from and experience other lodges and enriches the experience of the members.

Visitors to the Lodge will receive a warm welcome!

Trip to the Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham.

The day started with a hearty breakfast in Kennington. Then for the highlight of the day - a trip to Faversham on the 666 service bus and it was national free travel day, win win!

On arrival at the brewery we had a beer, but of course, its a brewery for goodness sake. Then after a safety briefing and statutory high viz kit out, we headed off for the tour which was thouroughly enjoyed by all.

Following the tour, some beer sampling with expert guidance - as if we needed to be told how to drink beer! Next on to a tasty meal and more idle chatter - the beer was starting to work.

Next - out to the beer garden for some more beer. The lightweights started to make their excuses by now (me included) but apparently the day continued, then the evening and goodness only knows what time the 'brewery tour' ended. I understand it was at the Rose in Kennington but who knows?
